I'm Ms. Washington, the sixth grade Honors/Advanced United States history teacher here at Denton Magnet School of Technology and I would like to welcome you to our school and formally introduce myself. I'm originally from Moss Point, MS but currently reside near Biloxi's wonderful beaches. I graduated from the University of South Alabama (USA) majoring in Educational Media and Technology (M.S.). I also earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Social Sciences. Teaching history and incorporating technology has been my passion. Therefore, students will dive into engaging lessons and activities that are student-centered.
Here's what students will be expected to learn from my course:
This course will cover the Industrial Age into the present. Students will understand the major events that have shaped American history, examine how Americans from different backgrounds have experienced that history, and understand its relation to current events within our nation.
