Our FBLA chapter had a wonderful 2 days participating in the annual Alabama FBLA State Leadership Conference hosted at the Mobile Convention Center. We would like to send a special thank you to all our participants for all your hard work and dedication preparing, studying and representing Mary G. Montgomery High School , Mobile County Public Schools and the Semmes community. All 13 participants exemplified leadership. Huge congratulations to our top winners for the 2026 Alabama FBLA State Leadership Conference. These students placed within the top 4 in the state and qualify for nationals this summer in San Antonio Texas.

Jimmy Yang placed 3rd in the state for Cybersecurity. 🖥

Senior students that completed their program at Faulkner Career Tech Center were celebrated at a completion ceremony. This is a major milestone for Faulkner Career Tech Center students who have gone above and beyond in their Career & Technical Education journey. Program Completers are students who have earned a C or higher in three or more courses within the same career tech program—demonstrating commitment, skill development, and readiness for what comes next. These students didn’t just take classes—they built real-world skills, explored career pathways, and prepared themselves for success in the workforce, college, or advanced training programs. We are proud of their hard work, dedication, and growth. This achievement reflects not only their effort, but also the support of our incredible instructors, families, and industry partners who help make these opportunities possible. We are extremely proud of Arianna Stallings, She was awarded the William Spencer Award. Also Mia Lopez Martinez was awarded the Learning Leading Award. Congratulations to both of these students. Congratulations to Brady Dobbs on being honored at the #LearningLeading Awards Ceremony! We are incredibly proud of Brady and all he has contributed to MGM over the past four years. His involvement in numerous clubs and organizations, along with his leadership roles, has made a lasting impact on our school community.

Our Azalea Trail Maids recently completed their last parade and are wrapping up their year. We thank them for all their hard work this year. Our new Maids will make their first appearance during graduation!

The National English Honor Society (NEHS) held its annual induction ceremony. NEHS recognizes and celebrates excellence in the English Language Arts classroom. Students who are eligible for membership have the opportunity to engage in scholarship initiatives and participate in meaningful community service throughout the year. During the ceremony, we also honored our seniors and recognized outstanding members. Congratulations to all of our inductees and honorees!

Our Academy Ambassadors recently attended the Monthly Semmes Chamber of Commerce meeting, where they had the opportunity to connect with local business and industry leaders while sharing information about our upcoming summer internship opportunities. During the meeting, students also learned about seven nonprofit organizations serving our community. It was a great experience to see the many resources available and the different ways these organizations support those in need.

We had a blast at Spring Fling on Friday. Thank you to Ms. Myers and her PTO staff for a wonderful event. Thank you to all the teachers and staff that helped make it so fun.

Six classes. Four houses. One family. In August, Ms. Miller’s Academy of Business Management Leadership students discovered their houses for the year by drawing from a Viking helmet. Last week, the four houses of Ember, Iris, Marigold, and Sage participated in House Hype, a fast-paced event full of competitions, activities, and leadership lessons. We appreciate all that the leadership program does for MGM!
