MGM Multicultural club completed community service in partnership with DWELL Mobile. Prior to the event the club collected can goods and non-perishable for items for the organizations pantry. Students worked in the DWELL thrift storage, classroom, pantry, and storage. They were also able to take a tour of the organization and learn about different roles that benefit the families that DWELL Mobile supports. For more information about DWELL visit https://www.dwellmobile.org/

Our teachers felt so appreciated last week, and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who helped make Teacher Appreciation Week so special. Thank you to organizations such as FBLA, Rho Kappa, NHS, NEHS, PTO, Multicultural Club, Black Student Union, and MGM Administration for all the thoughtful celebrations throughout the week. From fun snack carts to delicious breakfasts and lunches, our teachers truly felt the love and support from our Viking family. We also want to thank all of our students and parents who took the time to complete the “Thank You” certificates for our teachers. Your kind words and appreciation mean so much. Our teachers are incredibly deserving of all the praise and thanks for the hard work, dedication, and care they show our students each and every day. 💙🖤

May 1st we celebrated 5 senior students who signed letters of employment with local contractors through the Academy of Craft Training - Mobile (ACT). Through ACT, these students have trained in a true, hands-on, simulated jobsite environment—gaining real-world skills in Commercial Construction, Electrical Construction, HVACR & Mechanical Systems, Industrial Metal Fabrication, and Interior & Exterior Finishes. They’ve learned to read blueprints, operate tools and equipment, wire and troubleshoot electrical systems, install and maintain HVAC units, weld and fabricate materials, and complete finishing work, all while following industry safety standards and OSHA protocols. This program equips students with the technical skills, certifications, and experience needed to step directly into high-demand careers with confidence.

We’re excited to share that our Semmes FFA chapter was selected as a recipient of the Alabama Ag Credit FFA Growth Challenge grant! 🌱 Semmes FFA was one of six FFA chapters selected from a pool of 40 applicants.
