Today, the Advanced Band traveled to Murphy High School for our MCPSS District Band Assessment. For the first time since 2008, our band was given Superior Ratings on all three rubrics. These are the highest possible scores the band can achieve. Congratulations to our superior band program on their hard work!

On Saturday, hundreds of students from across Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, Washington, and Wilcox counties braved the cold and auditioned for a chance to be in the ABA District 7 Honor Band and the Alabama All-State Band. For the first time in school history, we have some of our Admiral Band members who were selected. These students auditioned with Scales, 2 prepared pieces, and Sight Reading in a very competitive process. Congrats to our Admiral Band members who will be representing our school!

🎵❤️💙Thank you to University of South Alabama Associate Director of Bands, Dr. Robert Abend for working with our advanced band today.💙💛🎵 He provided our students excellent feedback to help prepare them for their upcoming Music Performance Assessment. 🎼 On Tuesday evening, hundreds of students from across MCPSS auditioned for a spot in the Middle School honor band. Denton had 8 students selected, which is the most in school history!🎶 These students will have the opportunity to spend two days in January rehearsing with the other Honor Band students from across MCPSS and perform a concert! ⚓️💛💙Congratulations to these outstanding Admiral Band Members! 💙💛⚓️ #perseverancepropelsprogress #admiralband

Peer Helpers at Denton beat the sunrise to "Chalk the Walk" with caring and inspiring words on World Kindness Day. Students were gifted with not only a beautiful entry way but were also greeted with that same level of caring and kindness as they made their way to breakfast.
