My name is Jermaine Bush Sr. I am married to Chandra Bush and we have three boys Jermaine Bush III|, Jeremiah Bush and Joshua Bush. They are all in elementary school in the 2nd, 34th, 6th grade. I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama.
I graduated from John L. Leflore Magnet High School in June of 1990. After graduation I joined the U.S. Navy for 4 years active and 4 years inactive. Upon separation from the military, I earned an Associate Degree from Bishop State Community College in Mobile, Alabama and I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mobile.
Point of light to me is to love your fellow man despite the situation. Someone who not only just volunteers but is very positive. An inspirational person in the community. Physical Education has been a great platform for me. As a child I was raised to always trust God no matter the situation or circumstance. He will not only bring you through it, but He will get in your situations with you.
So as a physical education teacher, I carry those characteristics that were planted in my youth. I need and want to be a point of light to my students at school and my children at home. It was important to me to see how my own kids at home viewed me. By not growing up with a dad and being raised by my grandmother, I made a promise to myself that I would be a positive role model for my kids and other kids who do not have a positive male figure in their life.
